About the Artist:
Terry was born in a small rural town of Castlemaine in central Victoria, Australia. The second eldest son of a gold miner, life brought its challenges in the early years. As a young man he was inspired by the countryside around him and as he began to draw, so began the ache in his heart for an artistic career. From a very young age Terry always desired to draw and paint anything that presented itself, animals, landscape, kitchen utensils, interiors, exteriors, people, etc., etc., etc. Nothing escaped him; it had to be portrayed in some way on paper or canvas.
He was encouraged with his first solo exhibition, which featured 24 black & white sketches of the local gold mining area. It was a sell out except for two pieces kept for the Artist’s private collection. Since this humble beginning, he is now one of Australia’s most sought after Artists, particularly in the field of watercolour. He works in other mediums, oils, pastels, acrylics, and drawing very successfully, with watercolour being his favourite. His subject matter is varied from landscape, seascape, and garden corners, capturing the romantic and melancholic splendour of this great land of Australia and the wonderful European street scenes and vistas he so loves
