Slikamilina Painting Tours has been an established business since 2008. Guided by Lynda Milina, who lives in Ottawa, Canada, who decided combining work and travel was the perfect life.
Lynda, a Croatian, South-African, Canadian (now that’s a mouthful!), grew up in Kingston, Ontario, Canada and spent every second summer in Lumbarda, Croatia visiting with her family. As an adult she has continued to visit regularly particularly since Nick, her father, returned to his homeland.
Lynda, after graduating from University (with one year in Granada, Spain) and following a short stint in Real Estate, decided she enjoyed looking at the design of the interiors more then selling the house itself. She went on to study Interior Design, which lead her into a 10 year career in and outside the industry.
Having developed a love for travel, sparked by yearly holidays all over the world during her childhood, Lynda continues to explore, selecting new and exciting locations for her annual trips. August 2007 included a return trip to her mother’s homeland of South Africa for a 3 week safari. Art being her other outlet, Lynda has participated in volunteer projects for the Arts, Craft shows, and most recently photography.
Having not quite figured out why she never incorporated work and travel, Lynda decided to embark on just that! And with Nick’s hometown offering an idyllic place to travel to… Lynda hopes you will join Slikamilina in getting to know Island Korcula, and preserving it in paintings and photographs to showcase in your own home.
Ida, a Croatian, Montenegrin, grew up in the Dubrovnik area and has been living there all her life. Presently she is living in the country with her little family (husband and son) surrounded by nature and animals (cats, dog, guinea pig and planning for more!) A nature lover, she tries to spend every free moment on long walks and trekking.
After finishing Touristic school, she wanted to go on to study history and literature, as reading is her passion, but due to life circumstances she ended up at the Dubrovnik Maritime University and graduated in Maritime studies. She also received diploma certification as an agency manager, an agent of sustainable development, cabin crew member and in German language course 1. and 2 at DeutschAkademie Vienna.
As Dubrovnik is a well known tourist destination, during her studies and after, all her experience was related to different branches of tourism. She worked on the front lines of large hotels, restaurants and retail. She worked as a flight attendant, travelling around Europe and some parts of Africa, experiencing different cultures and people from all over the world. Her versatility led her to a decide to start her own agency for private accommodation and tours.
Slikamilina Painting Tours welcomes Ida to our family. She has put together an amazing tour for you in the Konavle area around Dubrovnik with your base in beautiful Cavtat. With her knowledge of the area and her love of people, this is not going to be a tour you want to miss!
