Becky Joy’s Tour Date: September 16-25th, 2017
Painting in the historic Plein Air style, Becky Joy paints impressions of what she sees and feels in her creative trips to the open air and in the studio. True to her desire for painting from life, Becky also paints luscious and colorful still lifes in oil.
After moving to Arizona from Oregon in 1993, Becky attended classes and workshops at the Scottsdale Artist’s School then began to hike and paint on trips throughout the west. Becky juried into Women Artists of the West in 1997. In the summer of 1998, she was included in a show at the Phippen Museum in Prescott, AZ. She has since been published in Art of the American West, Southwest Art Magazine, American Art collector Magazine, Plein Air Magazine and in the Phoenix Home and Gardens Magazine. Her paintings have been collected by the Kierland Resort and Spa, American Equity Insurance, Banner Hospital and Pioneer Home Bank.
Becky’s work has been accepted into 3 American Women Artist’s National Shows and 3 Oil Painters of America National Shows, qualifying her for submission to attain signature status. . Her work has received numerous awards in national exhibitions. She was a speaker and demonstrator at the National Plein Air Convention in Carmel. Becky has achieved signature status in Plein Air Painters of Hawaii and Plein Air Painters of Colorado. She also teaches workshops across the US and abroad and shows her work in galleries in Arizona, Colorado, Wyoming, Texas, Montana and California.
