Nina Weiss is a nationally recognized artist who has been painting and drawing the landscape for over 25 years.
She holds a BFA from the Tyler School of Art and K-12 Art Education Certification from the University of
Wisconsin, Madison. Further study includes Graduate Study at University of Wisconsin, pre-college study
at Rhode Island School of Design, and the Art Students’ League of New York.
Her work is held in private and corporate collections throughout the United States including
United Airlines, Aetna Insurance, McDonalds, Eli Lilly, Avon, United States Customs, and many more.
Artist’s Residencies include the Ragdale Foundation, Artist in Residence at Acadia National Park,
and the Vermont Studio Center. Nina’s work has been reproduced in prints; posters, and cards.
Her paintings and drawings can be seen in two Hollywood films: John Hugh’s “Just Visiting”
and Harold Ramis’s “Ice Harvest”.
She exhibits widely in solo and group shows throughout the Midwest. Recent publications include
Outdoor Illinois Magazine “Cool Globes” (June ’07) North Shore Magazine “Crop Circles”; (November ‘05)
and the Chicago Tribune “Artist’s Work Gets Role of a Lifetime” (November ‘05). Television and
radio appearances include WBBM News radio 780 “Made in Chicago”, HGTV’s Artist’s Loft Segment;
and “Artist to Artist” with Enid Silverman, cable T.V. show.
Nina’s Landscape Drawing video DVD demonstration will be released in tins of Prismacolor Pencils
in May of 2011 and can currently be seen on the YouTube website. Her drawings are featured
in the new Prismacolor Watercolor Pencil Brochure. She taught for more than fifteen years at the
School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she also served as an advisor in the Drawing Certification program.
Current teaching appointments include Columbia College Chicago, the Evanston Art Center, the
Northshore Art League; and the Chicago Botanic Gardens. Nina teaches workshops throughout the
Midwest, and travels to Europe every summer to conduct her European Landscape Painting & Drawing
